Was trying to put together a coherent lament on the first day of this idiotic war in Iraq, but got a little sidetracked while reading the U. S. Department of Defense’s DefendAmerica.mil. I suppose I should take some small amount of comfort knowing that, even though they will be fighting and dying for a dumb reason, the brave men of the 19th Armored Cavalry regiment will be well served. Poor bastards. Sign up to be an army of one because you can’t afford college otherwise, get your ass shipped over to Kuwait, and then, just before battle, you get a wench and a hummer. I guess it beats the heck out of the pack of smokes you used to get in your MRE.
