Is singlespeeding more conducive to MTB racing? We’ll see…

Bicycles — tim @ 11:13 am

I just registered for the Summer Showdown at Bear Creek. I should be in fine shape for racing as the Fringe closes the night before and I’ll likely be sat in the Cabaret for a few latenight, um… acts.

With any luck, I’ll remember not to treat it like a race and just go out and have a nice ride in someplace new and interesting. Wish me luck.

[Update] Well, looks like I blew my goal of finishing DFL and took 6th. I did make my other goals, though: be the funnest guy on the course and hit all the auxiliary jumps I could find. I’m also considering racing with Team Shiftless for some singlespeed ‘cross this fall. What the heck, right?

  1. Tim Bowman, this is your cousin way out west, Sylvia. Loving Southern CA. I was looking up DJ’s art sites today and happened upon this site. I’m interested in learning more about what this is all about.
I started cycling this summer and am borrowing an okay ride from a friend until I can get one of my own.
It would be great to catch up with you. Always really liked you but now realize we are in our mid 30’s and I don’t know you very well. That sucks!
