Racy ‘ku
Tinywords.com kicks down the racy haiku with today’s tiny words. Rawr!
Today’s ‘ku from tinywords.com:

Heh. Just found out my big-ass, custom-designed, completely indestructable messenger bag from R.E.Load Baggage in Philly is finished. Rock! This baby is so damn big, I can now roll in total snail mode. Badass!
Check that — they’re just starting on it. But I’m still stoked.
I’m kinda pissed at Volkswagen for discontinuing the diesel option in the Passat. It’s not like I’m looking for a car right now — Greta’s in great shape — but it’s the principle of the thing. I’m a big believer in diesel power. I like it because it’s more clean, more efficient, and requires less maintenance. And I’m a big fan of he Passat body. It’s comfortable, stable and handles great. I don’t want to have to step down to a Jetta to keep driving diesel. And now it looks like I may not have to: Volkswagen announced the convertible version of the New Beetle. Sweet!
[Update: No dice. Gas only for the convertible. Damn crazy Germans… Screw it — I’m getting a Mini]
Just when I think I’m pleased as punch with my Dual G4 desktop, Apple releases a brand new, super-sexy PowerBook with a 17″ screen and a 1GHz processor. Sigh… The coolest part? A fiber-optic backlit keyboard that senses ambient light levels.
Somebody pass me a tissue — I made a mess.
Wired is running an interesting article that explores why we’re so loyal to Apple computers.
Yup, we are a loyal bunch. And with good reason. In my opinion, The classic MacOS is the finest piece of software ever to grace a processor. But we’re not idiots. And we won’t gobble down just any old crap that Steve Jobs declares is “Insanely Great!” The fact is, MacOS X falls short of the bar set by Apple’s earlier work. I’m sure the Switchers love it, but they’re coming from Windows, they wouldn’t know a good interface if it bit them on the ass. The poor dears…
It’s not just me kvetching! Some other smart folks are grumpy, too!
More dissent as I find it. I’ll echo Zeldman and just say I hope Apple hears the wailing of it’s longtime users. Please, please, please?
